Sukhothai
 
Sukhothai, the first capital of the Kingdom of Thailand, is an outstanding province in the North.

King Ramkamhaeng, the Great, is the first on who invented the Thai alphabet at this capital.

The Thai people respect him as a great warrior.

Ayutthaya
 
The remarkable ancient city of Ayutthaya is now a major tourist attraction. Many ancient ruins and art works can be seen at present in this city that was founded in 1350 by King U-Thong.

Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park, a vast stretch of historical site is in the heart of the city.

It has been included in UNESCO list of World Heritage since December 13, 1991.

Lopburi
 
In 1664, King Narai, a King of Ayutthaya, made Lop Buri the second capital of the Thai kingdom.

With the help of French architects, the architectural style of Lop Buri in the reign of King Narai was half Thai and half western.

Today, some examples can be seen from the Royal Palace, Royal Reception House and other historical sites.
